The Power of the Press

In the news I have heard this candidate is leading or that candidate is leading in the presidential polls.
Seems like no one knows for sure what is going on if anything, or maybe it is all just a game for the press.
People who doubt the power of the press have obviously never listened to H.G. Wells, "War of the Worlds,"when it was broadcast or remember the effects there of. Although it was just a radio story it was read as a news flash. People were guarding
land and committing suicide because they thought Martians were landing as the show was being broadcast.
That was just one example as to how the media has dominated mainstream America for years filling our hearts and minds with fear and uncertainty. They are still hard at work with stories of how we are broke not to spend and who is the best candidate for president. Maybe one day they will start using this power for the good of man and tell about the good things that happen in world.
