I hear these commercials about the new HD radio.  Sure it sounds like a great idea.  Radio stations now are all broadcasting in HD.  It is the future.
Well in that case I would rather be left in the past.  If there is one thing that I don't usually complain about, music was it.  Not anymore.  I don't like the new HD radio.
My favorite old songs sound weird.  Sometimes for the better but most often for the worst.  Was Radiohead supposed to be HD?  How about Soundgarden?  The old songs from the the Foo Fighters, Offspring and U2?  No, I don't think so.
They were or still are supposed
to sound the way they are.  Live is always better, but still the version that comes from all the non-HD cd's and tapes and the prehistoric records is just as good.  But now someone's great idea is driving me crazy every time I hear a song that I used to like a lot.
They are still ok now.  It is not the bands fault, so I hold nothing against them.  It is the wave of the future, and although I could never live without my cell phone and laptop, I don't like everything.
While I'm at it let me throw something in about HDTV too.  Some things just aren't meant to be that clear.
So while everyone else has their I-Pod, I still like my cheap half working mp3 player and my cd player.
