Why is today a Good Day?

I'm a poet, a writer, a thinker and dreamer. I breed dogs and think about how to make the world a better place. I love writing short, personal pieces, whether it be poetry, blogs or short stories. If I can make two people smile every day, then I know I've had a worthwhile day.
Today is a good day because it's lovely and sunny and I've got the washing going. It's a good day because I've got a list of things to do, and I know I can get them all done and be happy with myself.
Today is a good day because the puppies are the cutest little schnauzers ever, and some of them have homes waiting for them. Today is a good day because whichever dog was barking a minute ago has stopped. I'm sure one of them will start up again, but that's OK. They're dogs, dogs bark.
Today is a good day because it's Friday, because I know I'm going to have fun on the weekend, because the Adelaide Crows can't lose in the Australin Rules Football this weekend - split round ha ha - that's an injoke! Sunday
is party day at the Prince Albert Hotel in Gawler - a party for poets, and it's going to be lots and lots of fun. I've already got my poem written for it - I'll look at it again and print it out soon. It's a good poem.
Today is a good day because I've got some writing to do, and it's paid work, and I know I can do this, and do it in time!
Today is a good day because I had $40.00 paid into my PayPal account - that's always nice! Money isn't everything, but in Western Society, it's important. I love to write, being paid for my writing proves to non-writers that it's worthwhile. I'd do it purely for the pleasure, but connecting with others is important. I love it when someone reads something I've written and tells me it touched them. That feels so special.
