I love the summer, Halloween, animals, chocolate and music. That is the basis of knowing me. I also like to write and travel a little.
Friday the 13th, a great excuse to take a day off of work. And don't forget not to walk under any ladders or pet any black cats that cross your path. The weather looks alright, so you probably won't be tempted to open your umbrella inside the house.
Where do superstitions come from? Not these superstitions, but people's individual superstitions. Anyone have lucky socks or a lucky jersey? Things like that which we might actually believe will bring us luck this Friday. Not that I think any day could be worse than another because of witches or voodoo.
I don't even think a day could get better if the Eagles won the Superbowl or any worse if my favorite show was canceled. Everything in moderation, luck and bad luck included.
Maybe though I'm wrong. Today, a Thursday the 12th, my boyfriend got into an accident on the Blue Route in Pa. He was tapped on the front passenger side of the car by
a car inhabited my a driver who was not paying attention to the road. After spinning around a few times the car hit the guard rail.
The car is ok. My boyfriend is ok. So is his sister who was with him. He was very shaken up when I saw him, but otherwise no worse for wear. Hello, Karma? It's not Friday yet.
Otherwise his day was normal, uneventful. It isn't over yet, so thats only so far. I shouldn't do anything to jinx him.
So would a lucky pair of socks have helped him escape the accident? Thats for you to decide. Personally I don't think anything would have saved him from the accident except for staying in Delaware this morning. The beach is beautiful there anyway.
But while you are driving down the highway on your way to work Friday morning just think, eventually the bad luck that some people will encounter today will catch up to me. Does it make it worse to not know when?
