reasons to love camping

I love the summer, Halloween, animals, chocolate and music. That is the basis of knowing me. I also like to write and travel a little.
I just returned home from a camping trip for 2 and a half days. It doesn't seem like long, but it's long enough to be a vacation for me. There are many reasons that I love camping which are also the same reasons my mom hates it. It depends on how you look at it.
The first reason is being out in nature. Something about living out of a tent and a car makes you feel like you are closer to being a chipmunk ( of which I saw my first yesterday) than a white collar American. Some people don't want to feel that close to the wildlife I understand, but it is a great way for people to understand why we need to protect the planet if we don't already know. Unfortunately most people that go camping already appreciate the Earth and don't need this valuable lesson.
You are closer to the animals when you go camping than when you are home even if you live next to a swamp and the woods like I do. Again, there are no real walls between you and them. Sure the
thought of being attacked by a bear could be a disturbing thought to some, but a bear won't even attack in 99% of cases unless you disturb the cubs. But any creature is protective of its young, including the human species.
You may discover a new species of insect while you are there. I doubt they are new, but I saw different bugs than I am used to. I took great photos of butterflies and a damselfly too, as well as more spider pictures. I have quite a collection of spider pictures floating around my house. They make such beautiful subjects as some of their coloring is amazing. And I truly believe that if you talk to a spider or a bug it makes them less likely to attack. Except for yellow jackets.
The best reason to love camping is probably that you appreciate what you have a lot more when you get home. A real shower, a pizza, a double chocolate donut and an iced coffee. How nice it is to be home. But counting down the days till my boyfriend's birthday in October to go back to the campground.
