As a mother, chef, business owner and author of "10-minute meals", I have something to say. I feel like I've lived several lives though I'm a young 41-year-old. The first major laundry innovation came along in the mid 1800s--the washboard. No longer did women have to travail in the river, slamming
clothes against rocks. Now they could squat over a large washtub and rub their laundry against a heavy wooden scrubbing board. Now that's progress!!!!
