I'm not knocking the 30-minute concept. On Sunday, I have loads of time to prepare a meal. So, 30-minutes isn't that hard. But through the week, I barely have enough time to call for delivery.

After a year of delivery and 15 lbs. later, I realized that I'm slowly and surely killing myself and my children. This is one of the reasons I came up with 10-minute Meals. They're really just ideas using some techniques I learned while preparing meals at my cafe. I can take a meal like Baked Steak and prepare it in 10 minutes. How?

4 cubed steaks
1 can of cream of mushroom soup
1 can of milk
1 cup of flour
1 tsp. garlic powder
1 tsp. onion powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. red pepper flakes

Combine the flour and spices. Mix. Dredge each steak in the flour and add to a hot frying pan drizzled
with 3 T. olive oil. Sear each side for a minute or two each.

In a crock pot add the cream of mushroom soup and milk. Whisk until combined. Place the steaks in the pot. Turn on high and cook all day.

When you come in later either from work, shopping, or running the kids here or there, you'll have your main entree completed. Make a quick salad or make some mashed potatoes. My kids say this is their favorite meal. It's hearty, very tasty and it only took minutes to prepare. If you like these ideas, I've got more. Not all my recipes include the crock pot. There are many make on demand meals that literally take 10 minutes. Some of my ideas take 10 minutes of prep time and maybe longer for baking time. But that's still freeing you to do other things while you wait. That is the same as waiting for delivery.
