Healthy and delicious 10-minute meals don't just happen. There is a strategy involved. When a physician performs surgery, he has all of his instruments placed within reach. Likewise, anyone attempting to prepare a quick meal worth eating must have quick access to all necessary tools and ingredients. I own and operate a small cafe. In my five years of business, it became necessary for me to develop a procedure in order to meet the demands of a busy restaurant. Since everything I make is made on demand, I have to be able to prepare dishes in record time. The only way I could perform that miracle was to organize, plan, and multi-task.

1. All spices should be within arms reach of the stove top.

2. Utensils used for cooking should be in a container next to your stove top.

3. Pots and pans should be in one drawer with your lids located in a separate area.

4. Every kitchen should have a food processor. This tool is a must for quick sauces, salsas, chopping, mincing, stirring, mixing, etc.

5. A good set of knives along with kitchen sheers are priceless.

6. Olive oil
with a spout inserted in the opening of the bottle should rest near your stove.

7. Bagged, chopped and washed lettuce and field greens should be kept on hand throughout the week. You can add some vegetables and an awesome dressing.

8. Quick rice (brown or white), angel hair pasta, and orzo pasta are great fillers that can be cooked in minutes.

9. Frozen chopped vegetables can be offered as a side dish. It's more nutritious than canned foods and easy to heat and serve.

10. No kitchen is complete without a crock pot. Virtually anything can be thrown in this and slow cooked all day. When you return home from work, dinner is ready to be served.
