Working from home is a career path that many people strive to take. As time passes, more and more men and women are taking the initiative to become self-employed. This doesn't merely mean working from home, but it additionally involves spending more time with your children and setting your own hours. Oh, and did I mention you get to be your own boss.
Have you ever stopped for a moment to think about why so many people are focused on being self-employed? There's no doubt that a major aspect of this topic concerns massive companies that regularly discard employees left and right, whenever they choose to. This commonly stems from routine budget cuts and other political hoopla. On the other hand, you can rest assured that none of the
big wigs will ever lose their position, nor will they suddenly be without a paycheck. Go figure.
If you're sick of working for "the man" and wish to start working from home in some way or another, the next step you should take is brainstorming. Seriously think about different ways you could potentially begin earning from home. I chose to start writing for income after college. Maybe you have an interest in the same field or possibly web design, editing, starting a personal accounting business, making jewelry to sell online or starting a catering business out of your kitchen. In reality the options are endless. Most folks just do not take the initiative to start their own business and begin working from home. Don't be one of them. If you truly want to work out of your humble abode, set your own hours and spend more quality time with your family, then there's no time like the present. Start setting the wheels in motion.

Be careful about doing catering out of your kitchen. Most states require food to be prepared in commercial kitchens.

Interesting post, but you didn't mention a situation like mine. I had a stroke in l994 and working from home is a necessity in my situation. Some days I can only work for two hours and some days it's eight. An employer would never stand for that! So you're right. For me working from home is ideal.
