After my 20 mile drive to work and the CNN news reports, I am filled with reactions mostly bad, to what I heard. For starters, the governement is trying to shove a bill through congress that would extend the use of wiretaps without a court order that would protect telephone companies against legal action by customers. If this passes, there would not be any lawsuites that would pry into the workings of this illegal program nor would the citizens have any weapons against it. The Senate passed the bill, but the House is refusing. I hope the House continues to refuse and stop the Administration from continuing to erode our rights and our Constitution.

John McCain, yesterday, referred to the Democrats as the "tax and spend" party. Because the Democrats want to repeal the tax reduction the Republicans gave to the top 1% of population, McCain calls this "taxing the middle class." At 72, John McCain seems to be exhibiting
signs of memory loss. The top 1% are not the Middle Class and who has spent us deeply into debt for questionable purposes? The sad part is that many people who hear these statements don't doubt them or investigate them.

On the issue of ending the war in Iraq, McCain has been quoted as saying if we pull out, the terrorists will follow us back to the United States. What a stupid statement. If they wanted to come here, they would be here. They just have to walk a few miles across our southern border and that is no trick at all. Homeland Security? What is that other than the agency that makes you take your shoes off at airports.

Our "leader" once said that terrorists hate freedom claiming that is the reason they hate us. He also has implied that Muslims hate Christians and we are Christians. Where do these idiotic statements come from and, more scary, why do some people believe them?

How can these things happen in a country of the people, by the people, and for the people?
