Everyone wants to make money online. This isn't said with malice of any sort, it's simply true. That's why we're all here, right? But, there's another important aspect to PrintNPost.com that's very easily overlooked. It's called networking.
In the old days, back when I trudged a ten miles in the snow to the bus stop, we called it: making friends.
Unlike Associated Content or Triond, Print N Post offers a more personal outlet for your thoughts and articles. The authors here are great about giving feedback and I've yet to talk to a single "postie" that wasn't friendly, helpful, and willing to cut-a-deal with you to help achieve your mutual goals. That may sound very opportunistic, but like I said, that's what we're all here for right? It never hurts to have allies in the war against poverty.
While I can't speak for everyone else, I'd like to take a minute to give a shout out to some of the great friends that I've met via this website:
Deborah Dera and Anne Moss Rogers - two intelligent - and humorous - women, both great writers, who've both been supportive of every venture I've tried and taken the time to offer constructive feedback through my triumphs and my rants.
Mike Powell - Mike will forever be responsible for introducing me to StumbleUpon Exchange, which has both helped increase my website's traffic and the number of SPAM comments I have
to moderate per day. SPAM or not, SUExchange goes a long way towards getting people to your site that wouldn't have noticed it otherwise. Plus, Mike sends some of the most hilarious and deliciously politically incorrect joke emails I've ever received in my life. A writer with a sense of humor, what a novel concept!
Bennie Droese - Poor Bennie has caught me on my worst day and still manages to leave comments on my site and encourage me to keep going even when it seems fruitless. Not that Bennie is pushover, but at least she's kind enough to realize we all have an off day once in a while!
Kim Abad - The Movie Lady - who never fails to point out life's ridiculousness with sharp wit, biting sarcasm, and a good dose of common sense!
And, last, but never least is David...or 02S "The King of All Internet" Media"...who never fails to offer a good suggestion, or tip whether I'm writing for his site or one of those other sites. Hands down I've learned more from 02S in the last 7 months than I could reading a year's worth of JohnChow.com posts. He takes the impossible and makes it probable in way that compels you to reach for the brass ring whether you think you can achieve it or not.
So, is this an extremely indulgent personal post? Probably. But, it's also a hint for all the new PnP writers out there. Take time to leave comments. Digg an article you like. Talk to people. You'd be surprised how much you can learn from other peoples' approach to our mutual goal of making money online.
