Hey all,

So I finally got to start off the team fortress walkthrough. I am almost caught up on schoolwork and all that garbage and I just beat crisis... (i give it a 8 outta 10 and will review it more in the future for you)

So My first class walkthrough will be the Scout.

A nimble fighter, Twitch gamers will feel right at home in this class, Invaluable when it comes to quickly capping enemy points quickly (a scout counts as two people when capping a point which means much faster caps) They can also quickly bound around the map because of their unique double jump feature. You can dodge anything quickly with your double jump, even change direction in mid air. Not only that but the double jump really helps you get to places some other classes cannot. For Example on the 2fort map the scout can bound across the map above everyone else across the bridge roof and into the top of the enemy base. If your unexpected you can easily cap the flag or cause sever havoc near their spawn this way.

All this Agility comes at a price, the scout is the most fragile of all the classes, unable to take much direct damage you must be quick to jump all over an opponent while peppering them with your shotgun. Your weapon while decent is not incredibly powerful so

going up against a heavy is usually a bad idea unless the enemy player is particularly slow, in which case you may be able to run circles around them while whittling down their health.

As a scout your nemesis classes are the pyro and the heavy. Engineer sentries are also a difficult issue as a scout and are best avoided or if possible bypassed altogether. Both those classes are short to medium range, and you are armed with a pistol which can whittle away health surprisingly quickly which is great for long distance fights. Your prey are mainly snipers. Your fast random movements (remember your double jump!) will make it very difficult for amateur snipers to nail you. You can also prey on engineers (without sentries) and medics (unless they are healing a heavy)

You will want to avoid soldiers at close to medium range and when dealing with demo men medium range is fine until they reload then get up close and brain them.

Overall the scout is a fast paced twitch fest to play. A common mistake people make with them is that they use them to fight...your not meant for prolonged combat your meant for flanking and capping, use your speed to your advantage and remember who and who not to tangle with.

look for my next class walkthrough soon and hope this helps some of you!

cheers,

Z
