I am a 23 year old art student in Victoria BC Canada. I enjoy artwork in all forms, but like to Paint and take photos the most. I am on my way to becoming a teacher so that i can teach young students how to refine their artistic talents.
As many of you know, the call of duty Franchise has been extremely lucrative for Activision. In its latest installment it brings more of the same, only in a different time frame.
If you have been following this games development at all you will know that instead of another world war 2 shooter, the call of duty franchise takes place in current time. As in the other games, you play many different characters throughout the game. The loose storyline has you following a shady terrorist leader who is out to...you guessed it, destroy the world.
OK so the story could have been ripped from a episode of 24. Lets get to the game play. Its again "on rails" which means your goaded to where you need to go by your AI teammates. You never get lose but you may find yourself wishing you could run around a bit more, its not nearly as bad in this game as previous versions though so that may be a comfort to some.
Graphics are incredible. This game easily competes with other games of its generation you will marvel at certain scenes. I found my jaw was open on the first map which takes place on a cargo frigate in a storm. Amazing atmosphere. The heavy scripting (which is a staple for this franchise) is again present. As a gamer you will either love or hate this feature. Personally I find it brings you much deeper into the game and so I enjoy the feature.
Game play was solid, though sometimes your AI teammates leave something to be desired. I found a couple small glitches with the ragdoll physics but nothing
I managed to beat the game in about 5 hours. This is pretty dismal in comparison to other shooters. When you beat the game for the first time though a "arcade mode" feature is unlocked which lets you play through the story again, this time you get points per kill and try to string together kills for more points. Good for a bit more enjoyment out of the single player game, but it is overall just the same story again.
Multiplayer is what really makes this game stand out above the rest. You create your own class rather then choosing pre determined classes which is a great feature to play with. The maps are enjoyable and give players of all types a chance to play the way they want to, whether its stealthy, from a distance or up close and personal. You can also unlock mods for your weapons through using them which is a good incentive to play with them.
Overall if you at all enjoyed the previous call of duties, this one will not fail to impress, The single player though a bit short is chalk full of action and twists and turns that never leave you bored. The Multiplayer will bring you back for more hour after hour. This solid well rounded game is definitely worth the purchase price.

I just got the game and love the single player so far. The graphics and game play are amazing, I am though a little dissapointed in the length of time it takes to beat the game...
