Over the years I have seen celebrities of different popularity levels get harrassed by the media and common people alike. I have discovered that a celebrity is judged using the strictest of standards in some cases and the most liberal in some. Its all extremes.
If its a case of drunken-driving, the police want to show them they are not above the law. If its in social circles then its a different matter all together. I have seen celebrities "get away with murder" because of their status. My aim is to highlight the injustices these people are subjected to by other people. Some people might say I should not sympathise with them and so forth but this is a free world and if somebody wants to attack them I cannot sop them, but in this article I am going to sympathise with them,so if you are not interested in what I have to say maybe this is your cue to press the "X" or something.
There is this young lady they call Britney. I do not particularly like her music or style. People have diffrent opinions about her, some say she is a good musician, some say she is a terrible one. But what do I say about her? Frankly I do not have anything too bad or good either to say about her music in general, but "Born To Make You Happy" is not a bad number. The fact that I appreciate one song does not me a fan, does it? Anyway that is beside my point. This young lady went through a very terrible time at one point in her life. Her whole world collapsed around her. The whole world booed at the poor thing from every imaginable angle. When she got locked up in rehab everyone thought that was the end of her. What was so wrong with her that everyone and everything was so bent on being against her?
Was she not just like the rest of us? I have never been a celebrity,my neighbour does not even know my name, but I know these people live hectic lives, and we only add to their misery by setting standards that we would not even consider setting for our pets let alone our children. When you become famous do you lose your soul,as well as all the frailty of humanity? Do you become a supernatural being that you all of a sudden acquire the ability to tackle any problem that comes your way? And your life becomes spotlessly white? Don't these people have feelings just like the rest of us. Are they not people? Who then gives us the right to terrorise them the way we do?
I strongly admire Britney Spears' willpower. She fought off all the neagtives that she was faced with and emerged victorious. I do undersand that these people also serve as role-models for our children but don't you think that you can take better care of your children that the tv or the internet can? If you think the tv can be your babysitter then you have your priorities all mixed up and you should be the one in rehab. You need psychiatric re-adjustment. Does Britney Spears not have enough to do already that she should look after your children? She is out there to make money and she will stop at nothing to get cash into her bank account, notwithstanding the fact that you are the one paying her, somehow! Deal with it! Its life. Celebrities do not apply to be role-models but we expect them to act in ways that we want them to act. Ways that are good for our children. In an ideal world perhaps that would be so, but the world we live in is far from ideal.
Do these entertainment media practitioners have souls? They are doing the same thing with Michael Jackson. Why do you kick a man when he is down? Good Lord! The man has too many problems as it is (most of them are of his own making,I won't deny that). Let the man deal his problems his own way. Surprisingly, all the people who were crying for him the world over during his heydays are quiet when he is in trouble. Where are the zillions of fans who bought his albums in two's? Where are the girls who were throwng their underwear on the stage in Bucharest. Shame on you Pharisees!
