The Meaning of Life (One Person's Perspective)

What is the meaning of life? What is the meaning of your life? How many times have you asked yourself, "Why am I here, and what am I here for?"

Maybe you compare yourself to others and believe that you are not as physically attractive as or gifted in sports as some other individuals. So what? These qualities are given way too much importance by our society, and will fade over time if one lives long enough. More important than these qualities is how you treat other people.

After a half-century of living, I believe the meaning of life is simply this: We are all put here to help and serve each other. That's it! Think about it. We are each born with unique gifts and talents. Some of us are good with our hands, some are number-crunchers, some are educators, some are inventors, some are scientists, and some have artistic talents. Some are even public-service driven and effective politicians. (Yes, they are out there!)

Some may be compassionate and willing to give encouragement and time to others who are less fortunate. Some are philanthropists who may have more money than time, but who are willing to help others who have a genuine financial hardship.

In my opinion, these are the individuals who have truly discovered the meaning of life.

Now that you have the answer, what will you do with your life?
