I was born on April 16, 1959. I was the second of five children. I have three sisters and a brother. I am a Christian and have attended many different denominations though I consider myself a Non-denominational Christian. Reading has always been fun for me and I think I got hooked on reading by reading and enjoying the Hardy Boys series. I did well in English in school and have always enjoyed writing on some level. I write poetry and short stories for my own pleasure.

One of the most fascinating things to me when I read the Bible is that
most every time I pick it up I read what appears to be something new.
Now, I have read through the Bible before so I have read every chapter
and verse before. What is so great is that as I get older the truths of
scripture become more real. More alive. I as grow as a Christian and I
mature in Christ, I find not that the Word has changed but my
relationship to the Word is changing. Now isn't that the way all
relationships are? Yes I call it a relationship because the Bible says
Jesus is the Word. To be a Christian one must have a relationship with
Jesus. That relationship grows as we read and study our Bibles.
As we
read and study we get to know our God in a greater way. In comparison
the longer I am with my wife the better I get to know her. If I take
the time to nurture our relationship as husband and wife, we will have
the benefit of deeply understanding each other. It is in this same way
that the Bible becomes alive. Foundational to our relationship with
Jesus is our reading of the Bible. Jesus becomes alive in our life more
and more as we read. As the Holy Spirit teaches us more and more about
Jesus our love for Him and His word increases. That is His promise to
us.
So if you are finding that your relationship is not what it once was with Jesus, I would venture to say your reading of the Bible has probably become less.
