I was born in Great Falls, Montana, and lived in Billings Montana most of my life. I am adopted. I moved to Texas in January, where I am currently living life to the fullest! I wrote poetry all through high school and now would like to expand. I enjoy life with my husband, and our 3 cats and 2 gerbils.

I have loved miniature roses for some time now, but they are such a pain in the butt to take care of. Its easy to prune them and water them but it seems that they attract some of the ugliest, nastiest pests on the planet for being pretty little flowers. Im always battling spider mites or mealy bugs, and if you have had either of those you know that they can easily turn a small plant based battle into a full on greenhouse war. They are hard to get rid of and they spread like wildfire. There are some things that can help you take care of the problem and prevent it to a point.
Ortho has a wonderful rose spray
that I like to stock up on in the spring that takes care of a lot of those annoying pests that plague out lovely houseplants. There is another spray i use by Bayer that is a rose and flower insect killer that kills the little pests and prevents outbreaks. So far these are my best lines of defense against the rose killing army. There is another recipe i read about once that if you can find it might work for you, but it consists of dish soap and beer. To each their own but soap and beer don t seem natural to be putting on plants.
Good luck on your plant battles. I hope these sprays might do you some good in the battles against the bugs!
