I'm  pretty sure everyone has used the expression on people "get a job". It used to be so simple a few years back to quit a job and walk in somewhere else and be hired again right on the spot but now things have changed. My husband who is a construction worker in Texas spent about 2 months just searching for some kind of work. The economy is falling at a drastic rate and there is nothing that civilians can do to stop it. I am all for supporting the soldiers and all the mess that we are getting into overseas, but America is spending 10 billion dollars a month to keep the soldiers there and struggling while doing so.

        Gas prices are outrageous where I live in Texas they are at $4.00 a gallon and the sad part is that is almost half of what I make an hour!!! I have a few good friends that work on an oil rig and I told them they need to dig deep and find a lot of oil. Their reply was "the oil rigs are finding the exact same amount of oil they did in 1999." Now, that baffles me if we are finding the same amount why is the gas so high? I've come to a conclusion many Bush supporters may not want to hear what I have to say but we as Americans are being used! All this extra money we are paying in gas is not because of the lack of oil but its so Bush can support his precious war! Bush is not there for the little people he is forcing us not into recession but a second Depression. I know I am not the only American who feels this way. Bush is just trying to finish what his daddy couldn't and in doing so is robbing civilians blind!

        Small businesses are all closing down because they can not afford to pay their workers. And, for they young people who have no kids the state will not even offer to help you with anything. Your basically left stranded wondering how your going to make it from day to day while killing yourself at an dead end job just to make ends meet. My husband and I tried to ask the state of Texas for temporary assistance while he was out of work because at the time I was only bringing in $1,000 a month and we were told that two people could live fine off of that. The majority of money was going to rent my car and down the gas tank. So where they got that assumption from i have no idea. We were told however if we had a child we would receive help for up to three months. Now, that is ridiculous!! We are having trouble surviving without children but if we had one we would be better off? What ever happened to the old don't have a child unless you can support it type thing? That is a reason why our taxes are so high because the handouts are given to people that are constantly having kids so they do not have to work! I'm not knocking anyone and I'm not saying that everyone who collects assistance is doing this but I know we all know people who take advantage of the system and get away popping out a kid every year so they don't have to work and our taxes pay them to be lazy basically.

        My husband while looking for a job made a great comment that came out of an old time movie. He stated, "the government is quick to give you a handout but won't even help you find a job." If were struggling like this now and things are going to inflate more in the future, it makes you wonder what our poor kids and grandkids will have to face just to get by?
