Good info, overall, but some major things to point out:
Your definition of a deductible is incorrect. A deductible is the amount of money you'll pay out of pocket if your company has to pay a comprehensive or collision claim. You pay your deductible first and then the insurance company pays what is left of the bill after that. The higher your deductible, the lower your upfront auto premium, but you have to pay that higher amount out of pocket if your car is damaged BEFORE the insurance company will pay anything else. Also, auto policies do not offer "health insurance", per say. The key thing to remember is that the health insurance policy you have through work will most likely EXCLUDE anything related to an automobile accident (or will be secondary coverage to your auto), which is why you have to have that coverage on your policy. |

Deborah is correct. Auto insurance policies offer medical or personal injury protection coverage which will pay for minor injuries sustained in a car accident. It can also provide coverage if you are hit by a car as a pedestrian or getting into or out of a car. But it's not "health insurance" and is not meant to replace good health insurance.

Hi,
I am newly join in this site. This site is very useful to others.Finding auto insurance quotes online is easy, but finding the cheapest auto insurance rates can be more of a challenge. To get the lowest quotes, follow these tips to help you find ways to trim possibly hundreds off your auto insurance quotes. Auto insurance rates can vary as much as 300% between companies for the same coverage. You can save hundreds of dollars a year by comparing prices between companies. Don’t forget to check out your current insurance company, they may have lower rates for new customers that you may be able to negotiate for yourself. ================================== David Great Auto Insurance |
