In terms of truly top-notch artwork, and in order to make sure you have one of the coolest custom designs around, Golden Apple is without a doubt the best tattoo parlor in the city of Austin. Along with designing custom art for the bodies of their clientele, this place actually sells art in other medias. As might be expected, though, all of this quality does come at a slightly inflated price, albeit a worthwhile one. As mentioned previously, the artistry at Golden Apple Studios is really beyond comparison, being comprised of some of the best in the nation, let alone in the state of Texas. This is also a high-end body piercing shop for those who are more interested in that line of body art. Either way, you'll find a comfortable, professional, clean environment at Golden Apple Studios.

Diablo Rojo, which is located on "the Strip" in Austin (if you don't know what the strip is, then you probably don't want to go there) is a wonderful tattoo parlor and piercing shop. One thing that is slightly disappointing about this establishment is the fact that it isn't open late, even on the weekends. For a body art studio surrounded by bars, that doesn't seem to be a very solid business plan. But, if you can make it in during business hours, Diablo Rojo won't disappoint you with its quality tattoo work. It is also lauded by regulars for its piercing services, which take place upstairs, in a shockingly sterile-looking, generally nice environment. One other notable aspect of this shop is its massive selection of body art jewelry, which varies from the extremely pricey to the more reasonable. All in all, then, Diablo Rojo is definitely one of the better tattoo parlors, and piercing shops, within Austin's city limits.
