Internet dating has its ups and downs.  There are a few bad apples.  Care should always be taken when meeting face to face for the first time, but it does generate happy endings.

How the internet introduced me to my prince
The commercials and ads are everywhere for internet dating sites.  People seem to have grown weary of meeting in bars and other places.  Our busy lifestyles prevent a lot of us from going out and just having fun.  That's where the internet comes into play.

Most professionals are tied to their computers or blackberries.  Surfing the web is a daily activity.  This is why internet dating is thriving.  There is no escape from the constant commercials, e-mails, and the like touting these meeting sites.

Let me tell you my story.  I was working nonstop trying to make ends meet.  It left very little time for socializing in public places.  Trying to unwind one night, I decided to post an ad on an internet dating site.  I included all kinds of requirements that I thought no mere mortal man could ever live up to.  I was wrong.

I had a few dates with a few losers.  It wasn't a total waste of time because it got me out of the house.  Then, I got a response from my Prince Charming.  We e-mailed and talked on the phone for awhile.  We clicked in so many ways.  We decided to meet face to face.

Being cautious, I invited this guy along with three of my friends to a Christmas presentation at church.  It was a dark and stormy night.  The performance began, and there was no sign of the guy I was meeting.  I thought I was being stood up, not a good feeling!  Finally, I glance back over my shoulder to look for him one last time and see him come through the doors into the church foyer.

He was soaking wet and looking sheepish.  I knew in that instance he was the one I was going to marry.  I left my pew to go get him, and the feelings got stronger.  We enjoyed the Christmas performance, but I declined to go out for anything else that night.  I had to take one of my friends home.

He and I continued to talk by internet and phone.  We went out on another date.  This time, I let him meet my dogs and cats.  They liked him.  Since animals are good judges of character, I knew I was on the right track.

We dated.  He took me to Russia to meet his brother.  We got engaged, picked a Saturday, and got married.  That was almost eight years ago.  I love him more as each day passes.

Internet dating can be scary, but it really does produce happy endings.
