I enjoyed your writing style, and I can agree with you that I have come to feel that Daylight Savings Time is useless. I have a daughter in kindergarten and I can see it's going to take all week to get adjusted to going to bed at night at the right time to get up without a hitch at the "new" morning time. In DST's favor: I remember I liked it a lot when I was kid. An extra hour to play outside every day! What kid doesn't love that?

I used to lie in Chicago. Now I live in Arizona. I still have time problems. When someone back east calls me, or I call them, we don't know what time it is "over there". It's a mess. You do have some very good points, and your article is well thought out. Great and timely subject.

Another funny and clever article. I couldn't agree with you more, Scott, about how ridiculous the whole thing is. I heard somewhere that daylight savings time is like cutting the bottom edge off a blanket and sewing it onto the top to make the blanket longer. Best quote of the article, however, is "This is America, dammit. We don’t believe in cutting down on the consumption of energy." Sad, but true. Do you think that these gas prices are forcing us to cut back? Or are we just whipping out our credit cards more readily? I'd love to hear your opinion on that. Thanks!
