I am a 23yr old writer from Key West FL. I really started writing in high school. I never received less then an A on any papers I wrote. I have continued to write after high school, mostly for a way to vent. I have written quite a few blogs and articles on the internet. I would say as a 23 yr old writer I am on my way to becoming a good writer :). I now live in Savannah where I run a lawn care business.

The other day I was thinking about something about this site. It was about my motives for PnP. When I first began writing for PnP, my main motive was to try to make money from it. Thus my first blog, it was pretty much a BS blog that I threw together to see if I could make money. Lately I was thinking, I am making money....slowly but, still making it. I enjoy writing blogs and articles as long as its something I'm interested in and I want to write about. If your motives are to throw together a bunch of BS blogs and articles just to see if you can make an extra buck. I dont think this site was truly meant for you. I have noticed that in a lot of different things I read
on here, I have seen a lot of BS blogs and articles. I will be the first to tell you......Its easy to tell the difference between a BS blog/article and one that was well written and thought out. BS blogs/articles in my opinion also bring down the reputation of this site. The more quality writings we get on this site means eventually more people will be visiting this site. People will start relying on PnP as their main source of research and NOT looking at it as a BS website where people throw stuff together and try to make a few bucks. I hope this encouraged you all to start writing high quality articles and blogs. Now for those that have been writing good stuff, keep at it and do what you like to do and make money in the process!!

very well said....I try to explain to authors that just submitting a link or 1 line is worthless...I let it slide here and there but as the site grows..what you said is very true.
if i spot just someone trying to promote something without having some type of an article..i warn them and delete the article |

Great article, Paul. I know how you feel. I got frustrated when I tried to read the top-rated authors to see how they did it, and realized that they had copied and pasted random articles from who knows where. But the good thing is...this site is user ranked. If people will read others' articles and give honest feedback, the good articles (like yours), that are well-thought-out, will succeed, and the "free-cruise-vacation-nee dlepoint-tips-how-to-scam -digg" ones won't.
Unfortunately, you can make money by scamming. It sucks, but that's life. It just means that honest people have to work that much harder. That's okay, though, it just makes your work better. |
